He is our camping mascot, and keeps us smiling!

This camping extravaganza is at Big Twin Lake in Trimont, MN. It is a beautiful lake that our friends Nyla and Brad Gerhardt has so generously allowed us to park the camper for the summer. This week Sharla (Charlie), Patty (Peppermint Patty) and Cousin Jodi (yet to be named, I'll ask her when she wakes up, okay she woke up, her official nickname will be "Snooker"), has come to experience Minnesota at it's finest. A week with a beautiful forecast (except for 97 with 70% humidity for Wednesday) but, who cares, when you are floating on the lake, the rest doesn't matter.
Day One: Monday June 25th.
Happy Hour started around 4:30 (as they say, it was 5:00 somewhere) and we had some great snacks and tried a new drink Jodi found on pinterest. Well, it sounded good???? It consisted of strawberry pop, wine and vanilla vodka! After one sip, and decided it sort of tasted like cherry cough syrup, we decided the vanilla vodka would also taste good in diet pepsi and rootbeer! Hmmmm....sort of like cream soda~
Well, after all the snacks, we decided to skip supper and go out kayaking. We explored uncharted territories and discovered yellow-headed blackbirds. After seeing a nice sunset on the water, we raced back to camp and settled into the screen tent for good magazines and conversation. Bed came too early, according to Judy's rules, but was welcomed by the travelers. Enjoy a little pictorial of the day! For more pictures go to

Happy Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteStill regret not going up with you girls! Looks like you're having too much fun! I want a floatie too. I spent the morning painting until I couldn't keep up with the sweat running down my face. When I got the call saying Bollard's pool was open, I hopped in the car. I washed our car when I got home, watered some plants and now settled down for the evening with my computer. I'm sure pinterest is calling me. So, stay cool and have a great evening!
Love ya!

What was the name of the antique store you stopped at south of Mount Pleasant on your way to Branson?
